CFPA Summer Camps 2026
Camp Assistant
The Center for Performing Arts Minneapolis is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and creative Camp Assistants to support our Summer Theater Camp and Mural Workshop programs. Camp Assistants will help create a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment for youth while supporting teaching artists, camp staff, and daily camp operations.
This position is ideal for individuals interested in theater, visual arts, education, childcare, or community arts engagement.

Employment Type:
Independent Contractor. Seasonal / Part-Time
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years old
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively
Ability to work positively with children and youth of varying ages and backgrounds
Ability to follow staff direction and maintain a safe camp environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants with:
Previous childcare or youth mentorship experience
Experience participating in or assisting with theater camps, art camps, or other youth programs
Interest in theater, visual arts, music, dance, or creative expression
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
Camp Assistants will:
Report to the Lead Camp or Workshop Instructor.
Help supervise campers during classes, lunch breaks, transitions, and outdoor time
Support studio setup, cleanup, and organization of materials
Encourage camper participation and positive behavior
Assist with performances, showcases, and special events
Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants
Schedule:
Summer camp schedules are based on camp session times and staffing needs.
Theater Camp: June 15th - July 3rd, 9:00a-4:00p with a 30 minute lunch break (3 Weeks total).
No Camp June 19th, 2026 Federal Holiday.
Youth Mural Workshops:
July 13th - July 17th, 9:00a-4:00p (with a 30 minute lunch break);
July 20th - July 24th, 9:00a-4:00p (with a 30 minute lunch break);
July 27th - July 31st, 9:00a-4:00p (with a 30 minute lunch break);
Fall Festival: September 19, 2026 5:00p-10:00p (Mural Acknowledgement).
Compensation:
$20 per hour
